The Front Yard

Katie Estes

With respect to what is already below, this is going to change directions for a bit. In the past few years, it has come to my attention that I move a lot. I go through a lot of apartments (and cars and boyfriends) but environmentally speaking, my front yard changes often. I actually have a front yard as it is now, which hasn't always been the case. It's large and lovely, albeit loud and buggy. It was where my dog spent her last days, when her legs stopped working and I had to carry her outside and convince her to pee.

It's my tenth year in New York, ninth in the city. I've blamed and analyzed it, suffered and played leading victim, and I still like it. And I still want to move. This space will serve as consistency amongst an ever changing present. A space where I can record what's in front of me and what I learn from it.

Follow along as the view changes.
